I have had a Kindle for a year now, and recommend it as a purchase. I don’t read anime though so I’m not an expert on that. What I suggest that you do is go to the amazon website and search on of the anime books you like and see if it has a Kindle purchase option. It will be obvious on the page.

    Good luck.

The Kindle only displays in black and white, isn’t most anime in color? Sorry I’m not an anime reader, but I’d think that would be a bit of a problem. Similarly, the screen size is about that of a paperback novel for the K2 (DX is bigger) and I thought animes were typically larger, though that I could certainly be wrong about. As the other poster said, to see if its available at all your best bet is probably to search for it on amazon under the kindle store.

You can purchase some anime books on the kindle (see sources). I’m not sure how well this would work, though, because the kindle is black and white and a color EReader probably won’t be available for a long time (this is because EReaders use EInk technology, which reads like a book and prevents eye-strain). So if you think that the primary use for your Kindle would be reading anime, I would just stick to regular books. But if you think that you would be reading a lot of regular books, too, I say go for it.

Here are the anime books available for the Kindle device right now:

I own the Kindle 2 and I love it very much. I haven’t tried anime books but I think other features and benefits it has brought to me are already over the value of the device itself… I remember I read these reviews when I decided to get my Kindle:

Finally, in case you don’t know, Amazon has just put a price slash on the Kindle 2, and it is now selling $100 cheaper than the price I got my Kindle, and it adds in international wireless access and native PDF support… So take the chance if you want it.

    Hope it helps :)
